Once upon a time it was unheard of to wear sneakers with your suit, but now it seems it’s become a fashion in itself. Love it or hate it, there is no denying that this is a current mens trend and you might as well ignore it or embrace it with open arms and have a go.
It does mean that by adding sneakers to your suit look it would take the look down a notch, but the sneaker range is so vast that some look positively better than a shoe, which sometime look a little worse for wear. Other than tradition there is no reason why you could wear sneakers with a suit, if you have pristine white sneakers and a lightweight pale suit the look is totally in tune.
Firstly you need to make sure that the suit is not too formal, so go preferably with a jacket that has an unstructured shoulder, and don’t have too much of a break if you are wearing sneakers with suit pants, just keep it to a minimum.
The look should be relaxed, as it’s going to give a relaxed feel feel to the outfit. go for a knitted tie as this is perfect for a casual suit, a cotton or a linen suit. Coordinate your shirt with the sneakers for a perfect match, they will probably look out of place with a double breasted jacket in the most formal of attire.
