Gucci SS14 takes on a catwalk of Art Nouveau, in a slinky, sexual and a shimmering chiffons, lurex and silk trimmed with leather iridescence, with the sport luxe look of peeking bras, mesh, athletic multi-strap bra-tops, kimono’s and a nod to the decadent 70s.
More a turn for the natural, and less polished that the recent looks from the catwalk. With silky track pants, low-waisted dresses, languid bombers, long-line evening T-shirts in opulent evening looks with activewear essentials created a feminine take on intricate elegance.
Beautiful colour palettes, in colours that would fit opulent jewellery, shimmering emerald greens and, amethyst, night black, luscious ruby reds, plum, and gold ran bejewelled throughout the collection.
Frida Giannini wanted to show that this collection was for a sexy woman, and eclectic. In 2005, Frida Giannini was named Creative Director of Gucci Women’s ready-to-wear, rising to sole Creative Director of the label. Her design approach shows her uniquely feminine and distinctly Italian point of view.
