Max Mara SS14 Collection

Max Mara

Fancy looking like you have just stepped out of the South of France, or living the life, well may well you be  city-bound come summer, but Max Mara’s Spring Summer 2014 collection will make you feel like a million dollars with their Spring Summer 2014 collection.  Sophisticated and sleek, encapsulate the Max Mara SS14 collection.

The late fashion designer Achille Maramotti, Iriginally a law graduate, followed his passion and founded Max Mara. Out of his, he gave Max Mara a clean, sophisticated aesthetic  French-inspired design offset with Italian flair. Maramotti established his signature piece, the camel-coloured coat, in his very first collection; now, half a century on, Max Mara designs are as polished and popular as ever, amplified accents of colour with extreme colour blocking being observed in electric blues, Persian greens, tomato reds and shocking violets with sleek shapes in rich tones, with the palette that was as fuss-free as the clothes: putty, dove grey and white dominated, while tangerine and violet offered a punch of colour.

And, of course, they would look as good mixed up as they do worn as one. And this collection has a truly timeless appeal and continue to empower the female form. Simple silhouettes in timberwolf grey, fleshy nude and champagne gold have the elegance and style that one would only expect from Max Mara. Dress lengths were kept to the knee and the hems clean cut.

Cami dresses, teamed with classic slim lapel overcoats, that were layered over slips and cashmere babushka headscarves created a sense of laidback luxe. Split seam skirts, dropped shoulder hems, oversized colour rim sunglasses and even double bag accessorizing in the form of box bags and clutch bags came to the forefront here. That’s why coats were layered over slips, and tights were worn under shorts.

Sheer glitter knits layered over slips, were seen coupled with cocoon coats. Textured prints were seen on boxy shirts and straight skirts in nude golds and denim blues. Dresses, skirts, shirts and jackets: all were a minimalists dream. For this is a label that knows how to dress for not just for the city, but for unpredictable weather, too.
